Translator’s Notes:

*(This song is so good!  I think that it’s a lot better than “Call Me Baby” and “Love Me Right” and it reminds me of “Overdose”.  I think it’s probably one of the best comebacks so far this year!)

*(I do not own the lyrics to this song – the lyrics belong to the writers.  I typed the lyrics myself using Google Translate.  I did the Pinyin and Translation myself, however.  I use Traditional Chinese characters just like they do in Taiwan because I prefer them to Simplified and I taught myself Chinese using Traditional characters.  Please note that Chinese is not my first language so at times, my translations might be off, too literal, or wrong.  I’m still learning, and I translate songs to gain experience, so I apologize in advance for any errors ^^)

*(To translate songs, I use an online Mandarin dictionary, an online Cantonese dictionary (it is a Canto-Mando, Mando-Canto, Canto-Eng, Mando-Eng, Pinyin-Jyutping, etc., dictionary and is VERY explanatory) and a paperback Mandarin dictionary.)

*(All the awkward spacing in the Pinyin is to show the different words.  It is color-coded on my computer, but I can’t keep the colors T-T)

*(When a part of the translation is in parentheses, it means that that word is implied to make the translation sound better in English.  Words will be implied because Chinese is much more vague than English and sometimes doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when translated literally.)

*(Throughout the song, in the Pinyin, every time you see “一” (Yi) written with either the second tone (í) or forth tone (ì) instead of the standard first tone (ī), it is because the character following it changes the pronunciation.  “一” is standardly pronounced with the first tone in Mandarin, except for when it is followed by a character that is pronounced with the first, second, third, or fourth tone.  If “一” is followed by a character pronounced with the fourth tone, then the pronunciation for “一” will be changed to the second tone, “Yí” and when “一” is followed by a character with the first, second, or third tone, its pronunciation will change to the fourth tone “Yì”.   I changed the pronunciation each time this happened, for example, “一樣” (Yí Yàng) and “一場” (Yì Chǎng).)

*(In the line, “我站在危險的邊界”, “危險”, “Wéi Xiǎn” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Wēi Xiǎn” is Mainland/China pronunciation.)

*(The word “戰慄” (Zhàn Lì) has a couple different written forms.  This first writing, “戰慄”, is the Traditional form, and is used in places where they read Traditional characters like Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao – I believe – among a  few others.  The Simplified form is “战栗” (Zhàn Lì) and is used in Mainland China and anywhere else they read Simplified Chinese.  I’m pretty sure that you are not supposed to mix the simplified and traditional writings for “Li” with the simplified and traditional forms for “Zhan”, so for example, I’m pretty sure “戰栗” is not a correct writing.  Also, I think that this word can also be written as “顫栗/颤栗” (Zhàn Lì) with the exception that “戰慄/战栗” means “To Tremble/To Shudder” and “顫栗/颤栗” also means “To Shiver” along with the other two definitions.  Or maybe they’re one of those words that actually have different meanings in their own language but the literal meaning gets lost in translation in English and while English can use the definitions of those two words interchangeably, that might not be the case in the original language.  I’m not one hundred percent sure since my dictionaries list both writings, so  I just used the Traditional version of the Simplified version in the video lyrics for the two times this word appears in the song.)

*(I will (slowly) be translating the entire album and I’m still working on older translations of other songs as well.  I’m sorry for any delays; my job demands that I work long hours. . .  I hope you all liked my translation.  Please do not edit my translation and please credit me if you would like to use it.  (I may be credited as either peach-jjinyoung.tumblr.com or kimsnugglegyu7.wordpress.com).  Feel free to like, comment, reblog, follow, etc. and remember to always support Exo, Exo-M, Exo-K, C-pop, and K-pop.  Xie Xie Ni Men ^^)

Translator’s Notes:

*(This song is really good and I think this and “The 7th Sense” are really good debut songs.)

*(Throughout the song, in the Pinyin, every time you see “不” (Bu) written with the second tone (ú) instead of the standard fourth tone (ù), it is because the character following it is also pronounced with the fourth tone.  “不” is standardly pronounced with the fourth tone in Mandarin, except for when it is followed by another character of the fourth tone, in which case its pronunciation changes to tone two.  I changed the pronunciation each time this happened, for example, “Bú Shì”)

*(In the line, “同行的那個人”, “同行” (Tóng Xíng) is also pronounced “Tóng Háng”.  “Tóng Háng” does have a different meaning from “Tóng Xíng” with “Tóng Xíng” meaning “Journey Together/Travel Together” and “Tóng Háng” meaning “(N.) Person in the Same Business or Occupation/Of the Same Trade or Profession”.  Also, the word “那個” (Nà Gè) is also pronounced “Nèi Gè”.  This pronunciation comes from the sound made when the words “那” and “一” (Yī) are slurred together and the “Nei” sound omits the character “一”.  You can pronounce “那個” either way, but in the song, they are saying “Na Ge”.)

*(In the line, “在你伸出的雙臂 /// 感覺你的了解”, another writing for “了解” (Liǎo Jiě) is “瞭解” (Liǎo Jiě).  This is a Traditional-only writing and “了解” is the Simplified form, though it is also very commonly used in Traditional writing.  You wouldn’t see “瞭解” in Simplified writing, but you would see it in Traditional.  “了解” is probably the more popular writing in Traditional Chinese, however.)

*(I hope you all liked my translation.  Please do not edit my translation and please credit me if you would like to use it.  (I may be credited as either peach-jjinyoung.tumblr.com or kimsnugglegyu7.wordpress.com).  Feel free to like, comment, reblog, follow, etc. and remember to always support NCT U, C-pop, and K-pop.  Xie Xie ^^)

Translator’s Notes:
*(I apologize for the tight spacing, I don’t know how to fix it!)
*(I do not own the lyrics to this song – the lyrics belong to the writers.  I typed the lyrics myself using Google Translate.  The Jyutping was done by me.  I use Traditional Chinese characters because I like them more than Simplified characters and I taught myself Chinese using Traditional, plus they read Traditional Chinese in Hong Kong.  I use Jyutping Romanization because this is how I learned Cantonese, and I also use numbered tones for Jyutping instead of tone markers like you would use in Mandarin Pinyin or other Cantonese Romanization methods.  Please note that Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) is NOT my first language and at times my translations might be off, too literal, or wrong.  I translate songs to gain experience and I’m still learning so I apologize for any errors. ^^)
*(All the awkward spacing in the Jyutping is to show the different words.  It is color-coded on my computer, but I can’t keep the colors T-T)
*(The word “返” (Faan) has two pronunciations:  “Faan1” is colloquial and “Faan2” is more literary and not as commonly used as “Faan1”.)
*(In the line, “兜兜轉轉跟你都似一樣”, “轉” (Zyun2) is also pronounced “Zyun3”.)
*(In the line, “和舊知己一起 /// 總可放慢喘氣(不急於生老病離)”, “生” has two pronunciations:  “Sang1” is literary reading and “Saang1” is colloquial.  Also, “病” has two pronunciations as well:  “Beng6” is colloquial pronunciation and more commonly used and “Bing6” is literary and not very commonly used.)
*(In the line, “並無什麼誘餌”, “並”, “Bing6” is the standard pronunciation and “Bing3” is the variant.)
*(In the line, “無損當初你 /// 仍然純淨潔白那章”, “淨” has two pronunciations:  “Zing6” is literary pronunciation and “Zeng6” is colloquial.)

*(If you noticed that there are number tone markers instead of the symbols you see in Mandarin Pinyin, that is because Jyutping uses numbers to mark its tones.  There are six tones in Cantonese and they are as follows:Tone 1 is a High, Level sound (

)  (Ex:  媽 “Maa1”)

Tone 2 is a Low-Mid to High, Rising sound (

)  (Ex:  可 “Ho2”)

Tone 3 is a Mid, Level sound (

)  (Ex:  去 “Heoi3”)

Tone 4 is a Low-Mid to Low, Falling sound (

)  (Ex:  誰 “Seoi4”)

Tone 5 is a Low to Low-Mid Rising sound (

)  (Ex:  我 “Ngo5”)

And, Tone 6 is a Low-Mid, Level sound (

)  (Ex:  讓 “Joeng6”)

They are slightly harder to master than the five Mandarin tones, but again, keep in mind that in a song, the tones don’t really matter all that much.  *Also note that “Js” are pronounced as “Ys” in Jyutping Romanized Cantonese.  Yale Romanization uses “Y” but I use Jyutping.)

*(If you see a line with a tone written as “#*#” (Ex. Jyun6*2) this is sort of equivalent to “不是” (Bú Shì) in Mandarin, where “Bu” is standardly pronounced as “Bù” but changes to “Bú” if it is directly before another character pronounced with the fourth tone.  In my Cantonese dictionary, since it uses numbers for both Cantonese and Mandarin tones, “Bu Shi” is written as “Bu4*2 Shi4” instead “Bú Shì” to show that “Bu” is standardly pronounced with the fourth tone but with this particular word its pronunciation changes to the second tone.  So back to the example, “Jyun” in “情願” (Cing4 Jyun6*2), is standardly pronounced as “Jyun6” but in the word “Cing Jyun” it changes to the second tone.  This happens a few times throughout the lyrics, but again, the tone isn’t really very important when singing.)

*(I’m going to do the Jyutping for all of the songs in the EP, and maybe later on I’ll do the translations.  Please do not edit my translation and please credit me if you would like to use it.  (I may be credited as either peach-jjinyoung.tumblr.com or kimsnugglegyu7.wordpress.com).  Feel free to like, comment, reblog, follow, etc. and remember to always support Twins, C-pop, Canto-pop and Mando-pop.  Do Ze Nei Dei ^^)

Translator’s Notes:

*(This is my favorite song from the album and I just think it’s really cute and sweet.)

*(For the character “誰” (Shei/Shui), “Shéi” is the standard pronunciation and “Shuí” is the variant.  I personally have never heard a native Chinese speaker use “Shui” but I have heard those who have learned Chinese as a second language use it (for example, the Korean members of EXO-M and Super Junior-M use “Shui”).  Either pronunciation is correct, I just prefer to use “Shei” and it is what is said in the lyrics.)

*(The Chinese title of this song is “女 X 友” and it means “Girl X Friend”.)

*(I have a fun fact for the line, “就像青梅竹馬”.  The phrase, “青梅竹馬” (Qīng Méi Zhú Mǎ) is from a poem by Li Bai (李白/Lǐ Bái) called “長干行” (Cháng Gàn Xíng).  Li Bai was a famous Tang dynasty poet (701 – 762).)

*(The word “喜歡” (Xǐ Huān) is also pronounced “Xǐ Huan”.)

*(In the line, “彷彿就走進永遠”, “彷彿” (Fǎng Fú) is also written as “仿佛” (Fǎng Fú).  This is the variant written form and it means the same thing and is pronounced the same as the standard written form.  And also, when by itself, “佛” (Fu2) is also pronounced as “Fó” and when it is pronounced like this, it means “Buddha” or “Buddhism”.)

*(In the line, “和你分享每一分每一秒美好的學生時代”, “學生” (Xué Shēng) is also pronounced “Xué Sheng”.)

*(In the line, “這些獨家記憶鮮明像昨天”, “這些” (Zhè Xiē) is also pronounced “Zhè Xie”.)

*(In the line, “請記得我(ah yeah)”, “記得” (Jì Dé) is also pronounced “Jì De”.)

*(The word “朋友” (Péng Yǒu) is also pronounced “Péng You”.)

*(In the line, “故作灑脫卻躲不過總被識破”, “識破” (Shi Po) has two pronunciations:  “Shì Pò” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Shí Pò” is Mainland/China pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “我否認說故意說謊不讓自己心思洩露”, “心思” (Xīn Sī) is also pronounced “Xīn Si”.)

*(In the line, “就讓我改變過去的錯不再懦弱 hey”, “過去” (Guò Qù) is also pronounced “Guò Qu”.)

*(In the line, “依然握緊你雙手期待黎明照耀”, “期待” (Qi Dai) has two pronunciations:  “Qí Dài” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Qī Dài” is Mainland/China pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “在你眼中記住我在腦海中畫著我”, “記住” (Jì Zhù) is a synonym for the word “記得” (Jì Dé) meaning “To Remember/To Learn by Heart/To Memorize/To Remember/To Recall”, however, “Ji Zhu” is not used to mean “To Recall” like “Ji De” is.  And “Ji Zhu” is also pronounced “Jì Zhu”.  This is a fun fact that I just thought would be fun to share ^^)

*(In the line, “不論未來過多久也依舊”, a more common term for “不論” (Bú Lùn) is “無論” (Wú Lùn).  Both words mean the same thing, but I personally hear “Wu Lun” more than “Bu Lun”.  I think that “Bu Lun” is more of a Mandarin or “Mainland” term whereas in Taiwan or in other dialects like Cantonese, “Wu Lun/Mou4 Leon6 (Canto.)” is more common.  The character “無” is a more formal and classic term for “No/Negative, etc.”.)

*(I finally finished the whole EP so now I will be working on the color-coded versions of the songs.

*(The Chinese title of this song is “腳印” (Jiǎo Yìn) and it means “Footprint(s)”.)

*(The character “跡” (Ji) appears in a few different lines throughout the song.  “跡” has a variant writing, “蹟” (Ji).  Both characters mean the same thing and are pronounced the same way:  “Jī” is standard pronunciation for both characters and “Jì” is variant pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “腳步不要太著急愛的迷藏遊戲”, “著急” (Zhāo Jí) is a variant of “着急” (Zháo Jí).  The difference between these words is that the “Zhao” character is different.  In the first word, “著急”, the Traditional form of “Zhao” is being used and the pronunciation for this writing “著急” can be “Zhāo Jí” or “Zháo Jí”.  The second word, “着急” is using the Simplified form of “Zhao” and this writing is apparently a Mandarin-only writing and it is only pronounced as “Zháo Jí” when written in this form.  I used the Traditional form since I use Traditional characters, but I guess that it doesn’t really matter which writing you use (at least if you’ll be using it in Mandarin; if you wanted to use this word in Cantonese, the Traditional writing should be used).

*(In the line, “我能感覺你刻骨銘心的回應”, “應” (Ying) is pronounced as “Yìng” instead of “Yīng” because it is part of the word “回應” (Huí Yìng), which means “Response/Respond”.  “Yìng” means “Respond, etc.” like in the word “答應” (Dā Yìng/Ying – To Answer/Respond, etc.) and “Yīng” means “Should, Ought to, etc.” like in the word “應該” (Yīng Gāi – Should (do something), ought to, etc.).  Google Translate uses the “Huí Yīng” pronunciation, which is incorrect, so I changed it.)

*(In the line, “×散落在這裡愛的足跡”, “散” (Sàn) has a synonym, “” (Sǎ).  “撒” (Sa) is not a synonym of “散” (San) when it is pronounced “Sā” because this does not mean the same thing as “Sàn”.  “散” (Sàn) is also pronounced “Sǎn”, which also has a few slightly different meanings than “Sàn”.  So “撒” can only be a synonym of “散” when you are using “Sǎ” and “Sàn”.)

*(“哪裡” (Nǎ Lǐ) means “Where” and “Wherever”.  It also means “No” when it is used in Modest Denial: ex. “哪裡, 我的國語不好 (No, my Mandarin is not good.)”  In Northern China, Mandarin speakers prefer to use “哪兒” (Nǎ Er) which is also pronounced “Nǎ’R” and it means “Where/Wherever” just like “Na Li”.  “Na Er” would most likely be used in Beijing-dialect and other Northern-Mandarin-dialect Chinese.  In Northern Mandarin, the speakers really enjoy rolling their R’s (兒) and this practice is called “兒化” (Ér Huà) in Chinese and it means that it is the “Usage of the final particle/suffix “兒” and it is placed after many commonly-used nouns to avoid employing one-syllable terms in Northern-Mandarin and Beijing-Mandarin Mandarin dialects.”  Also, as a final note, “哪裡” is more likely to be pronounced “Nǎ Lǐ” in Taiwan and “Nǎ Li” in Mainland China.)

*(In the line, “Oh 不遠處又浮起 /// 你熟悉的身影”, “熟悉” has two pronunciations:  “Shú Xī” and “Shóu Xī”.  “Shú Xī” is the literary pronunciation and “Shóu Xī” is the colloquial pronunciation.  In spoken Chinese, “Shóu Xī” is much more common and it is usually what I hear from c-pop artists and television.  They are saying “Shú Xī”, which is still correct, it’s just not as commonly used.)

*(In the line, “反复描繪你的臉龐”, a synonym of “臉龐” (Liǎn Páng) is “面龐” (Miàn Páng).

*(In the line, “記得嗎曾經 /// 璀璨無比我和你”, “記得” (Jì Dé) also pronounced “Jì De”.)

*(In the line, “門外的聲音打破孤寂我帶來暖意”, “孤寂” (Gu Ji) has two pronunciations:  “Gū Jì” is Mainland/China pronunciation and “Gū Jí” is Taiwan pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “雪花也無法融化 /// 是你的模樣”, for the word “模樣” (Mú/Mó Yàng) my dictionaries say that it is only pronounced “Mú Yàng” but in the song you can hear “Mó Yàng” instead.  The character “模” is pronounced both “Mú” and “Mó” so I think that the pronunciation for “模樣” might vary by region or dialect or something like that.  I believe that “Mú Yàng” might be a literary or standard pronunciation and “Mó Yàng” might be a colloquial or variant pronunciation, or vice versa.  And I believe that “Mo Yang” is a more common or popular pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “Oh 我仍站在那裡”, “那裡” (Nà Lǐ) has two pronunciations:  “Nà Lǐ” and “Nà Li”.  “Nà Lǐ” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Nà Li” is Mainland/China pronunciation.  Also, in Northern China dialects, another popular pronunciation for “There” is “那兒” (Nà Er/Nàr), which means the same thing as “Na Li”.)

*(I just have “Girl X Friend” left to finish and I’ll have that posted soon.

*(The Chinese title of this song is “偏心” (Piān Xīn) and it means “Biased”.  It can also mean “Partial, Favoritism, etc.”.)

*(“時候” (Shí Hòu) is also pronounced “Shí Hou”.)

*(In the line, “朋友都笑我 but 只要你看懂我”, “朋友” (Péng Yǒu) is also pronounced “Péng You”.)

*(The word “痴心” (Chī Xīn) has another writing:  “癡心” (Chī Xīn).  This writing is actually the Traditional writing and “痴心” is the Simplified writing.  It is also considered a Traditional writing and is used in Traditional writing too, kind of like “什麼” and “甚麼” (both Shén Me).)

*(In the line, “現在很危險很危險 /// 小心點”, “危險” (Wei Xian) has two pronunciations:  “Wéi Xiǎn” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Wēi Xiǎn” is Mainland/China pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “每(一)天跟你喝杯咖啡”, I have “一” in parentheses because it’s not really part of the lyrics but I still heard it.  If I am wrong and it’s really not part of the line, taking it out doesn’t really change the meaning of the line.)

*(I am going to be translating the whole EP and I will probably be making color-coded versions as well, but I’m going to post those after the translation for each song is finished.

*(This translation is of the lyrics from the audio, not the video, so it’s longer.)

*(I do not own the lyrics to this song – the lyrics belong to the writers.  I typed the lyrics myself using Google Translate and referencing the lyrics in the official music video.

*(The Chinese title of this song is “光劍” (Guāng Jiàn) and it means “Lightsaber”.  “Guang” means “Light, Ray, etc.” and “Jian” means “Sword, Dagger, Saber, etc.”.)

*(In the line, “起舞為光芒”, I think that the pronunciation for “為” should be “Wéi” instead of “Wèi” because the line means, “Beginning to dance and becoming (rays of) light”.  The “Wéi” pronunciation of “為” means “To Become, To Turn into, etc.” like in “成為” (Chéng Wéi – To Become, etc.) and the “Wèi” pronunciation means “Because of, for, to, etc.” like in “為了” [Wèi Le – For (Something/Something)] and “因為” (Yīn Wèi – Because).  Maybe I’m wrong, but I changed the pronunciation from “Wei4” to “Wei2” just in case I was right.)

*(In the line, “太危險 /// 黑暗中看到光芒再出現”, “危險” (Wei Xian) has two pronunciations:  “Wéi Xiǎn” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Wēi Xiǎn” is Mainland/China pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “當那道光芒 /// 綻放的瞬間 /// 我要你暫時請閉上眼”, the pronunciation of “暫時” should be “Zàn Shí” instead of “Zhàn Shí”.  In my dictionaries, they only list “Zan4” as a pronunciation for the word and for the character by itself.  Sometimes, though, you can hear people say “Zhan4 Shi2” instead (especially in Taiwan) and I think maybe this is an accent based off of a Hokkien/Taiwanese influence or “Zhan4” is in fact a colloquial pronunciation for “Zan4”.  Either way, I put “Zan4” just to be safe.)

*(In the line, “尋覓到這裡我做你的 savior”, a synonym of “尋覓” (Xún Mì) is “尋找” (Xún Zhǎo).  The difference between these words is that “Xun Zhao” means “To Find/Look/Search for Something that is Either Good or Bad” and “Xun Mi” exclusively means “To Find/Look/Search for Something that is Good.”  I just thought this would be fun to share.)

*(I am going to be translating the whole EP and I will probably be making color-coded versions as well, but I’m going to post those after the translation for each song is finished.

*(If I had to compare this song to “Miracles in December” I would have to say that I like “Miracles in December” a little better.  “Sing for You” is a nice song, I just think it’s maybe a bit too slow for me.)

*(I do not own the lyrics to this song – the lyrics belong to the writers.  I typed the lyrics myself using Google Translate and referencing the lyrics in the official music video.

*(The Chinese title of this song is “為你而唱” (Wèi Nǐ Ér Chàng) and it pretty much does mean “Sing for You”.)

*(In the line, “我指尖吉他的節拍 /// 染上寂寞的純白”, “寂寞” has two pronunciations:  “Jì Mò” is Mainland/China pronunciation and “Jí Mò” is Taiwan pronunciation.  Also, the word for “Guitar” is “吉他” (Jí Tā) which is the Mandarin transliteration of the English word for “Guitar”.  This word can also be written as “吉它” (Jí Tā).  The Cantonese transliteration for “Guitar” is “結他” (Git3*6 Taa1) since if you were to use “吉他” with Cantonese pronunciation, it would be pronounced “Gat1 Taa1” which doesn’t sound like “Guitar”.  I just thought this would be fun to share.)

*(In the line, “多想得到你微笑答案”, “微笑” has two pronunciations:  “Wéi Xiào” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Wēi Xiào” is Mainland/China pronunciation.)

*(The word “奇蹟” (Qí Jī/Jì) means “Miracle” and the writing used in the lyrics is actually the variant writing.  The standard writing for this word is “奇跡” (Qí Jī/Jì).  Also, the character “Ji” in this word has two pronunciations:  “Jī” is the standard pronunciation and “Jì” is the variant pronunciation and this applies to both written forms.)

*(In the line, “感謝命運的奇蹟”, “感謝” (Gǎn Xiè) is a more formal term for “Thank you”.  The normal, standard/Mandarin form of “thank you” is “謝謝” (Xiè Xiè/Xie).  Cantonese prefers to use “多謝” (Mandarin:  Duō Xiè///Cantonese:Do1 Ze6) as “Thank you (for goods received)” and “唔該” (Mandarin:  Wú Gāi///Cantonese:  M4 Goi1) as “Thank you (for services rendered)”.)

*(In the line, “若現在說出來 /// 這一刻對你說”, “出來” (Chū Lái) is also pronounced “Chū Lai”.)

*(I am going to be translating the whole EP and I will probably be making color-coded versions as well, but I’m going to post those after the translation for each song is finished.

*(All the awkward spacing in the Jyutping is to show the different words.  It is color-coded on my computer, but I can’t keep the colors T-T)

*(In the line, “無需多怨氣和摯友去歎這假期”, the variant pronunciation of “這” is “Ze5”.)

*(In the line, “Monday 會發呆 /// 腦要缺氧也要過海”, for the word “發呆” (Faat3 Ngoi4), “呆” is pronounced both “Ngoi4” and “Daai1”.  My dictionary says that the word should be pronounced “Faat3 Daai1” but in the song they say “Faat3 Ngoi4” and “Ngoi4” is standard reading for “呆” and “Daai1” is the variant.)

*(In the line, “×週三迫於眼眉捱多幾天先假期”, (Bik1) is actually the variant pronunciation of “迫” and the standard pronunciation is “Baak1”.  However, “Bik1” is used much more commonly than “Baak1” is and “Baak1” is not used very often.)

*(In the line, “Sunday 已皺眉 Monday Tuesday 再無轉機”, “轉機” (Zyun Kei) is pronounced both “Zyun2 Kei1” and “Zyun3 Kei1”.  There are a lot of explanations for the differences in pronunciation for “Zyun” in word compounds, but the difference in meaning are just general guidelines.  My dictionary doesn’t go into a lot of detail about which pronunciation to use for this particular word, so I just chose one of them and put it in the Jyutping.  I assume that both pronunciations can be used, and in songs, tones aren’t very important anyway, I just wanted to point this out.)

*(The Mandarin rap is so cute!)

*(All the awkward spacing in the Jyutping is to show the different words.  It is color-coded on my computer, but I can’t keep the colors T-T)

This happens a few times throughout the lyrics, but again, the tone isn’t really very important when singing.  Note that there might be other exceptions as to why a character is pronounced differently.)

*(In the line, “不管逛街看戲還是跟朋友吃飯”, “朋友” (Péng Yǒu) is also pronounced “Péng You”.)

*(In the line, “如果不喜歡請你看完就算”, “喜歡” (Xǐ Huān) is also pronounced “Xǐ Huan”.)

*(In the line, “戀愛 /// 失眠 /// 冷戰”, “冷戰” (Lěng Zhàn) means “The Cold War” and “Lěng Zhan” means “(To) Shiver”.)

*(In the line, “讓這世界通通都對座 /// 絕對風靡”, the variant pronunciation of “這” is “Ze5”.  Also, for the word “風靡”, I personally heard “Fung Mo” which might be wrong because the pronunciation for “靡” is “Mei5”.  I’m not a native speaker so I don’t know if there are any variant pronunciations, and if there are, then my dictionaries don’t list them.  So I just stayed with the standard pronunciation to be safe.)

*(In the line, “公開的高聲宣佈 /// 誰敢講不知道”, “聲” (Sing1) is literary pronunciation and “Seng1” is colloquial.  I put “Sing” because that’s what I heard, but “Seng” is fine as well.)

*(In the line, “人在最遠方也拉近路途”, “近” (Gan6) is literary pronunciation; “Kan5” is strictly limited to colloquial pronunciation.)

*(If you noticed that there are number tone markers instead of the symbols you see in Mandarin Pinyin, that is because Jyutping uses numbers to mark its tones.  There are six tones in Cantonese and they are as follows:Tone 1 is a High, Level sound (

)  (Ex:  媽 “Maa1”)

)  (Ex:  可 “Ho2”)

Tone 3 is a Mid, Level sound (

)  (Ex:  去 “Heoi3”)

Tone 4 is a Low-Mid to Low, Falling sound (

)  (Ex:  誰 “Seoi4”)

)  (Ex:  我 “Ngo5”)

And, Tone 6 is a Low-Mid, Level sound (

)  (Ex:  讓 “Joeng6”)
